Painter Andrew Berrien Jones casts his eye on the mid-19th century iron railings ornamenting the stoops of lower Manhattan. Twenty of Jones’ paintings are on view at the Museum of the City of New York in Stoops of Manhattan: Railings and Shadows. An important documentation of the artistry of ironwork, and a testament to Jones’ attention for shape and texture in the urban environment.

Those iron railings seem antique, but they still look reserved and untouched. The railings bear an artistic pattern, as well. I'd like to go to that museum soon.
