Al Capone's House Up For Sale

via the Chicago Tribune:

The home at 7244 S. Prairie Ave. once owned by mobster Al Capone and his family has hit the market for $450,000. It's a hefty sum considering similar two-flats in that working-class South Side neighborhood are selling for $180,000 to $230,000. But no other home in Chicago can match the history of the modest brick house that has had just two owners since Capone's mother died in 1952.

I used to live 6 blocks away from this house, on 71st and Champlain, when I was in high school...

6 blocks uh?......I live about 40 minutes from Anita Barker, well across a small river located in my city that is---still 40 minutes. She lives in the "uppity" part of the town....it's still a beautiful town all around regardless. I usually see her shopping in the grocery store, a lot, but have never said anything to her. Only looked at her & when she glances over to smile OR raise an eyebrow...by then? I've walked quickly away...the "SHY Tuesdai" is always present in the early morning :O) I'm NOT really into walking up on people, especially not LEGENDS. I know she's a regular person as me, but Anita Barker!!!...of course I always maintain my cool, calm& collective beautiful Tues era....good thing I'm always fashionable when I see her, as if that matters since I won't say nothing lol...only me.
