Supreme F/W 2009

Here's the new Supreme Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. The New York brand once again does not disappoint. The collection is very complete and offers a wide range of t-shirts, shirts, outerwear, hoodies, sweaters, 5-panel caps, New Era caps and accessories. The outerwear is looking really good this season. The beanie and New Era cap offering is also very strong, yet the accessories stand out more. They present a knife, playing cards and other interesting items. Supreme has collaborated with Disney on a couple of Mickey pieces this season and with Hanes on some basic white t-shirts. The skatedecks this season come in a leopard look. The luggage collection also looks very nice, and consists of backpacks, messenger bags, waist bags and little carabiner pouches, all featuring a grid pattern on the upper. The new Supreme Fall/Winter 2009 Collection will be available in US stores from September 3rd and in Japan from September 5th.

8-Bit Trip

Using nothing but legos (and taking up 1,500 hours of there time) Rymdregladge takes us on an “8-Bit Trip.” The stop motion video celebrates the splendid early days of video games. Some favorite characters make cameo appearances and the feel of it is just right as homage to simple two button control.

KAWS x Michael Jackson x Interview Magazine

New Jersey-born Artist Kaws was invited recently by Interview Magazine to work atop an image of Michael Jackson for an editorial piece on the late pop sensation. The final image is typical of Kaws’ unique style and features a ‘Bendy’ (a worm-like character who often appears in Kaws’ work) wrapped around Jackson which is reminiscent of previous work, most obviously the iconic reworking of Supreme’s Kate Moss tee.

The Death Star Will Never Make It To The MoMA

"You're all a bunch of design snobs."

When someone says "Star Wars design" you probably think of cool spacecraft and nifty, futuristic objects, but SciFi Scanner's John Scalzi points out an amusing fact: Much of the industrial design of the Star Wars universe actually, well, sucks.

I'll come right out and say it: Star Wars has a badly-designed universe; so poorly-designed, in fact, that one can say that a significant goal of all those Star Wars novels is to rationalize and mitigate the bad design choices of the movies.

Why doesn't Luke wear a seatbelt? Shouldn't lightsabers have certain basic safety features? Why does the Death Star have an open tunnel leading directly to a combustible central reactor? And why does the Emperor have a dangerously deep open shaft right next to his throne, with no handrail of any sort? (I'd at least put yellow tape around the edge of it.)

Scalzi looks at these questions and more...

88-Keys Q & A With Limite Magazine

Thirty-three year old super producer 88-Keys stepped outside the producer seat and into the role of artist in his album debut “The Death of Adam”, with a 14 track jewel. In the interview he talked about the balance of producing timeless captivating music and being a full time father and husband. 88 Keys comes across as peculiar intelligent and humble. Still a fan of music and more importantly life, we had a chance to talk about his decade long tenor in the music business and his many influences.

Etch-a-Sketch 3D

o2 Creative Solutions is an "experience design firm" that seeks to combine design, communications and technology. Up above is their Etch-a-Sketch-inspired Sketch-3D tool:
Sketch-3D is an interactive, integrated software/hardware system that enables users to create their own anaglyphic 3D drawings. By using a ubiquitous interface metaphor (the "Etch-a-Sketch"), Sketch-3D allows anyone to participate in generating stereoscopic imagery in a way that is simple and engaging. In addition to the personal experience, Sketch-3D can be scaled to work with any output device from large scale projection to plasma displays to an integrated LCD. This versatility allows for Sketch-3D to be tailored to fit a wide array of installation environments.

No word on how to erase it, but we're guessing you have to get two people to rip it off the wall and shake it vigorously.

"We Were Once A Fairytale" Short Film

"We Were Once A Fairytale" is a short film that was directed by Oscar-Nominated director Spike Jonze and starring Kanye West (and me! lol). It was a video for the song "See You In My Nightmares", but when two creative geniuses like Kanye and Spike get together on a project, you know the outcome won't be anything normal. In this case, instead of a video, you have a 14 minute short film that debuted @ The Los Angeles Film Festival.

The film will be available on iTunes September 8th.

P.S. This was really a dream come true for me to be involved with this project. I mean, the whole Hollywood factor is a given, but as a skateboarder, to be in a film directed by the Legendary Spike Jonze, and guest starring the whole GIRL Skateboards crew is just amazing.

Thanks for putting me in the film Spike and 'Ye!

KiD CuDi x Ibn x The Hundreds

Me and Cudi did a little shopping on sunday in L.A. before he had to go to The Teen Choice Awards. We hit the news stand on Fairfax and Cudi bought every single Complex Magazine with his and Keri Hilson's new cover. He would actually sign the magazines and give them to fans that approached him for an autograph or picture.

When I saw the homies Ben and Bobby Hundreds' 2-page spread in there, I was like "Yo let"s stop up in The Hundreds Store and show'em some love"...

It's good to see your homies blow up!
